Or into London and travel to Wiltshire from there? There is such a huge difference in price (London being quite a bit cheaper) but if Bristol is an easier airport to get around it may be worth the extra cost.

Heathrow is your best option. You can get a coach from the airport to Bristol for around 20. Journey time is 2 hrs.
